Roads and Miscellaneous Networks

The VRD is the acronym for "Voirie et Réseaux Divers" (Roads and Miscellaneous Networks). It is a term commonly used in the field of construction and urban planning to designate all works and infrastructures linked to roads (roads, streets, sidewalks, etc.) as well as to various networks (sanitation networks, drinking water, electricity, telecommunications, etc.) which are necessary for the proper functioning of an urban area or a construction project. The VRD therefore encompasses a wide range of elements and services, such as the construction of roads and paths, the creation of sewerage networks and pipes for the supply of drinking water, cabling for telecommunications services, and many more.

In short, it is everything related to the infrastructure necessary to make an urban space or construction site functional, safe and accessible. VRD works are crucial for the development and modernization of cities and urban areas, because they make it possible to create infrastructures that meet the needs of the population in terms of mobility, access to public services and quality of life in general. As part of projects for individual houses, the VRD allows the installation of the networks mentioned above with the addition of automatic watering systems, surveillance cameras, infrared detectors, etc.
